It is true that All is Mind, Divine Mind. There is nothing “outside” or “other than” the Mind of God. Mind as described in ACIM is the activating agent of Spirit, and Mind and Spirit are One. The sleeping mind seems to have forgotten its Reality as Divine Mind. The sleeping mind believes it is “in” matter or flesh, it seems to have two parts, and it seems to be mortal or finite. As such, it seems to need to answer a wakeup Call or to “open its heart” and accept itself as Changelessly Eternal Mind. The heart, as I use the term, is synonymous with desire, or the altar of the mind. When the altar seems to be defiled or to contain something “other than” Love, the mind is closed to Love, closed to the experience of Itself as Divine Mind. To open the heart is to forgive or to look past the defiled altar with the Holy Spirit to the Light within, and to see the Innocent, Radiant Perfection of Christ. An open heart is another way of saying “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.” A Pure Heart and Divine Mind are the Same, for a clean and open altar allows the Light of God to radiate and extend naturally. Such is Divine Mind. Such is Creation. Such is Purity of Heart.

Head/heart, thinking/feeling, intellect/emotion distinctions are artificial ego constructs, for they still imply duality. Feelings do indeed arise from whatever thought system the mind aligns with, God or ego, love or fear, for in a symbolic sense (as if the separation had really occurred) there are but these two emotions. Opening the heart to Correction (purity), desiring Atonement above all else, and desiring Only God are all ways of describing the Gateway to the Remembrance of God. Christ is a Thought in the Mind of God. Christ is the Feeling of Perfect Love in the Mind of God. Therefore Thinking and Feeling with God is only natural for Christ, for the Christ Mind is only Union. In truth there is no duality, no Mind/Heart split.
Mind is All in All. An open Heart knows ItSelf as Mind, as One with God. There is no duality in One Mind, for Love has no opposite. This is the meaning of “Perfect Love casts out fear.” Only Love remains Eternally Changeless. It is also the meaning of “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the Peace of God.”
